Burnham-On-Sea Royal British Legion launches annual Poppy Appeal

Burnham-On-Sea's branch of the Royal British Legion launched its annual Poppy Appeal on Monday (October 29th).

The group's members were joined by Mayor Pauline Pollard at their Victoria Street premises to launch the appeal.

The Legion's Mary Baker also renewed her appeal for more people to come forward to help sell poppies in the run-up to this year's Remembrance Day service on Sunday November 11th.

She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We need more people to get involved by helping to collect money and sell poppies - it doesn't have to be a great deal of time, just the odd hour here or there."

Anyone who can help is asked to telephone 01278 781046 or to drop in at the Legion's shop at 15 Victoria Street during normal opening hours.
