Two Burnham-On-Sea charities receive concert cash windfalls

Two worthy local causes have this week been presented with cheques following a night of fundraising music at a Burnham-On-Sea pub.

Burnham-On-Sea's Gateway Club and the local branch of the NSPCC both received £437.50 - their share of the proceeds from a concert at The Railway Inn earlier this month.

"It went brilliantly and everyone had a great time," Gateway Club Chairman Arthur Thorogood told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

"The pub and all the bands taking part gave their time and facilities at no cost - so everything raised has gone straight to the charities."

The event was a big success for local company Fubar Promotions, which organised the evening.

Our photo shows organisers of the concert with representatives of the two charities outside The Railway Inn in the High Street.
