Roadworks will close part of Burnham High Street for six days

Part of Burnham-On-Sea's High Street will be closed to all traffic for six days during January.

Roadworks will mean the northern end of the street, from the junction with Regent Street to College Street, pictured here, will be closed.

Somerset County Council's Highways Department says the closure will come into effect on January 14th and run until January 20th.

"The work will include resurfacing, kerb improvements and the introduction of new footway slabs," a council spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

She added that traffic will be diverted around the area during the work.
