Burnham Rotary Club members bring Christmas cheer to abuse sufferers

Bridgwater's Daffodil Club supports women and children across the district who are in difficult domestic situations, and when Burnham Rotarian Jane Gibbs heard the group needed some small gifts to pass on to those it helps, she offered to help.

She bought and wrapped 100 chocolate selection boxes, plus various childrens presents, and David Simcox, store manager at Asda in Highbridge, provided a further 20 boxes, along with free wrapping paper.

After a busy wrapping session, Jane was able to deliver the presents to Heather Pearce at the Daffodil Club ready for the group's Christmas party, which was held in Bridgwater.

"We are so grateful for this support, especially for the children who will all have a present," said Heather.

"It will make such a difference to their Christmas".
