Early
morning car accident closes Burnham-On-Sea seafront
A
54-year-old Burnham-On-Sea man was taken to hospital with suspected
neck injuries after an accident on the town's seafront early on
Friday morning (July 27th).
The
driver of a white Astra collided with a 4x4 vehicle whilst coming
off the town's jetty.
Police
were quickly on the scene and briefly closed the junction of Pier
Street with The Esplanade shortly before 7am.
Paramedics
took the casualty, who was also suffering from shock, to Weston
General Hospital where he was later said to be in a "stable
condition."
The
4x4 vehicle, a Coastguard truck from Weston-super-Mare, was returning
from dealing with an early morning incident.
Neither vehicle was badly damaged.
