Burnham-On-Sea fundraisers take a bracing dip for charity!

Thousands of pounds were raised for a local charity when hardy fundraisers from Burnham-On-Sea took a sponsored dip in the English Channel at the weekend.

Nine fundraisers took part in the annual sea swim at Lyme Regis on Saturday, raising money for East Huntspill's Secret World Wildlife Rescue.

Organiser Debbie O'Keefe told Burnham-On-Sea.com the event had been a great success.

"We had more people taking part this year than ever before and although the final amount raised has yet to be calculated, we're expecting it to have been a great day for the charity."

She added: "The weather was not ideal - a torrential downpour dispersed the crowds just as the event started - but everyone had a fun time and enjoyed it."
