Model
railway enthusiasts gather in Burnham-On-Sea for annual show

More
than 800 train enthusiasts from across the country gathered in
Burnham-On-Sea at the weekend for the town's annual Sedgemoor
Rail exhibition.
The
popular two-day event - now in its 29th year - was held at King
Alfred School on
Saturday and Sunday (August
25/26th).
Over
30 model railway layouts from all over the country were on show,
some of which had not been seen in the area before.
Alongside
this, more than a dozen local and national traders were in attendance,
selling a wide range of model railway equipment, books and videos.
Local
modellers were also on hand to give demonstrations on various
aspects of the hobby. The
event is organised by Burnham & District Model Railway Club,
which meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-10pm at Burnham Community
Centre.
Among
the exhibitors was local author
Alan Hammond, who was signing copies of his new book, Legends
of the Somerset and Dorset Railway.
