Burnham-On-Sea
football team checks out with £1,000!

Shoppers
at Burnham-On-Sea's Somerfield store have helped a junior football
club raise over £1,000 towards the cost of much-needed new
equipment.
Players
aged from 7-13 years from Burnbridge Wanderers welcomed customers
to the Pier Street store over the Easter weekend and provided
a bag-packing service on each of the checkouts.
Their
efforts were not in vein with a total of £1,137.35 raised
over the two days, which will be used to help fund new equipment
and assist in the covering of ground rent.
Store
Manager Terry Bennett said it was a pleasure to welcome the club
to the store and the club's Vince Brown (Under 12 Manager) and
Treasurer Daren Rogers said: "We were overwhelmed at the
level of generosity from local residents and holidaymakers who
dug deep to donate to the club."
"Heartfelt
thanks go to Terry and all of his staff who made the club feel
so welcome, and of course to our dedicated team of volunteers,
including parents, who gave their time to help us raise this excellent
figure."
