Photo special: Burnham-On-Sea kindergarten celebrates its 40th birthday

Over 140 people flocked to Burnham-On-Sea's Southleigh Kindergarten on Saturday afternoon (May 12th) when it celebrated its 40th anniversary.

A special champagne and strawberry afternoon was held alongside its annual fete to mark the special milestone.

"It's been a very special day," headteacher Linda Easton told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

"Everyone enjoyed it, and the weather stayed fine for much of the afternoon. We think there were well over 140 visitors here today, which is superb."

"It was wonderful to see Mrs Biscoe, who founded the kindergarten 40 years ago, again and former headteachers Mr and Mrs Olson."

A wide range of attractions, stalls and entertainment was laid on during the afternoon - and our photos show some of those who went along.

BARB's Light Of Elizabeth hovercraft was invited along to the event and Sophie Hodges, 10, and Colette Adams, 10, jumped at the chance to get onboard.

Christopher French (18 months) enjoyed getting mucky with some clay modelling!

A bouncy castle and face painting were among the fun events at the event.
