Burnham
tourism bosses set to discuss impact of barrage on trade
The
impact of the proposed Severn Barrage on local tourism will one
of the hot topics on the agenda at the Annual General Meeting
of the Sedgemoor Tourism Association next week.
The
meeting will take place on Tuesday October 30th in The Tavern
at Brean Leisure Park.
Also
on the busy agenda are other key local topics including traffic
schemes, waste charging, renewable energy, promotion initiatives
for 2008 and the group's aims for the 2008 Catering & Leisure
Show.
Chairman
Bob Nicholson (pictured) said: "The committee would appreciate
the support of local people as they feel 2007 has been a very
eventful year and there are important issues to consider for 2008
and beyond."
A
carvery supper is available at £10.00 per person, with places
bookable in advance through Chairman Bob Nicholson (bob@southover.freeserve.co.uk)
or Secretary Paul Bowkett (paul@warren-farm.co.uk).
The
meeting will start at 7pm with a reception and registration, followed
by a 7.15pm carvery supper (£10 per head), and the AGM itself
at 8.30pm.
