Burnham-On-Sea police issue appeal after boy robbed of money

Burnham-On-Sea police issued an appeal for witnesses on Monday morning (March 26th) after a boy was robbed of money in the town over the weekend.

The 13-year-old was asked to hand over a quantity of money by a 20-year-old man on Friday (March 23rd) near the Somerset & Dorset pub in the High Street (pictured).

Police spokesman Wayne Baker told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “At around 9pm, the 13-year-old boy was approached by a suspect who grabbed his hooded jacket and asked him to hand over his money.”

“The man then fled off along Abingdon Street. We are appealing for witnesses who saw the incident.”

The man who police are interested in speaking to was described as aged around 20, 6ft tall, of medium build, wearing a white cap, a red hooded top, and blue jeans.
