Last
orders at Burnham pub which is to be replaced by flats

Landlord
Kevin Tippets is preparing to call last orders for the final time
when his Burnham-On-Sea pub closes next month to be replaced by
a new development of flats.
The
Crown Inn in Oxford Street will open for the final time on Saturday
March 3rd and this will be followed by an auction of furniture
and other internal fittings on March 22nd.
Mr
Tippets, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I have made
many friends here. I've been here seven years and have had lots
of great times, which I'll miss."
Kevin,
who has lived in Burnham-On-Sea for much of his life, won't be
moving fully out of the area - he's moving to a village near Wedmore,
and still owns a shop in Regent's Street.
Meanwhile,
bar staff at the pub are marking the pub's closure by creating
a charity calendar featuring risque pictures of themselves in
the pub!
The
publication is due to go on sale shortly at £6 a copy with
all proceeds going to BARB, the charity behind Burnham's rescue
hovercraft. We'll have more details shortly.
