Opera singer gets five-minute standing ovation at charity event

-

Local opera singer Tim Pitman received a five-minute standing ovation at the end of his latest concert held near Burnham-On-Sea this week.

Over 170 people filled East Huntspill Church for the special 90-minute performance when Tim sang a wide range of opera music to raise money for the church.

“Tim got a great reception and the organisers have already said they’d like him to perform again,” Tim’s manager, Vic Spark, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Everyone really enjoyed the evening. The five minute standing ovation at the end was just great – the icing on the cake.”

A total of £402.50 was raised for the church and a separate collection for Christian Aid raised £55.

Tim provided musical entertainment during Burnham-On-Sea’s Christmas lights switch-on last November, and performed several times at Sanders Garden World at Brent Knoll last year.
