Tour of Britain cyclists will miss out Burnham-On-Sea

There was disappointment for Burnham-On-Sea cycling fans on Thursday (August 30th) when it was confirmed that The Tour of Britain, the country's leading cycle race, will not visit the town.

The race, involving almost 100 top cyclists from around the UK, will come into Sedgemoor - as shown on the route map pictured above - but it won't take in Burnham, as had been hoped by businesses, when the race comes to Somerset on September 11th.

The race will start at 10.15am at the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton and then head to Taunton and then north west across Exmoor. To see the full route of the race, click here.
