Exclusive: UK's national water skiing championships
return to Burnham

The
UK's national water skiing championships will return to Burnham-On-Sea
this summer for the first time in more than 10 years.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
learns that the UK's leading water skiers will be flocking to
the town on Sunday August 5th during Burnham's regatta weekend.
Talks
have been ongoing with the British Water Ski Federation for several
months - as first
reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com during January - and this week
the group confirmed that Burnham is back on its competition schedule.
Terry
Moul, Commodore of Burnham Sailing Club, which is organising the
regatta, said: "I'm delighted that the British Water Ski
Federation has now confirmed they will be returning to the town
this summer for the first time in over ten years."
"A
round of the British national water skiing championships will
be held throughout the day on Sunday August 5th. It's great news
- we're delighted to have them back."
The
water skiing championships will be one element of a busy three-day
regatta weekend. Burnham-On-Sea's popular Seaside Fun Day will
be held on Friday August 3rd, while the annual ESCAPE Day featuring
demonstrations by local emergency services will be held on Saturday
August 4th.
And
an illuminated sail-past of boats and various yacht races are
also planned, along with a continental market along the seafront.
Mr
Moul said he hopes the event will start to put "Burnham's
regatta on a par with some of the big south coast events."
