British
water skiing bosses make final preparations for Burnham event

British
water ski racing bosses visited Burnham-On-Sea on Wednesday (June
27th) as preparations continue for the return of the UK's water
skiing championships to the resort in August.
Burnham-On-Sea
Sailing Club Commodore Terry Moule met British team captain Tony
Williams, British team manager Derek Blackmore, and race organiser
Tim Mayers, pictured, on the town's seafront.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
reported earlier
this year that the UK's top water skiers will be competing
in several races on Sunday August 5th during Burnham's week-long
regatta weekend after an absence of more than ten years.
Two
hours of racing will take place with large crowds of spectators
expected to watch the action.
Tony
Williams, British Team Captain, told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Wednesday:
"We're looking forward to returning to Burnham. Everything
is coming together really well."
"We've
run through the programme of racing today and seen the seafront
and bay and it all looks good."
The
first race of the day will last around 50 minutes and will be
a round of the National Championships. It will include races in
three classes. A second, 35-minute race will follow for novices,
ladies and seniors.
"There
will be around two hours of racing either side of the high tide
at 12 noon. It should be a really fun event to watch with plenty
of thrills and spills," said Burnham
Sailing Club Commodore Terry Moule.
