Councils investigate joint opposition at Burnham wind farm appeal

Burnham-On-Sea Town Council and Brent Knoll Parish Council are investigating whether to pool their resources together in order to jointly oppose the controversial planning application for a wind farm on the outskirts of the town.

Representatives from the two councils met on Monday evening (January 8th) to discuss whether there is scope to appoint a single planning consultant and legal respresentative to act on behalf of both organisations.

Town clerk Eileen Shaw told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We will be writing to the planning inspector shortly to let him know that the town council maintains its objections regarding the proposal. We will also let him know that we are investigating being represented in some way jointly with Brent Knoll."

Burnham-On-Sea.com revealed in December that Ecotricity, the developer behind the scheme to build five wind turbines, had submitted its appeal after its initial application was turned down last summer.
