Burnham Rotary Club's
'Youth Makes Music concert' is a sell-out success

Over
160 young people from across the Burnham-On-Sea area gathered
in St John's Church, Highbridge to take part in a special 'Youth
Makes Music' concert organised by the town's Rotary Club.
"The
idea was to bring together local schools to promote music and
the joy of performance," said one of the organisers, Brian
Bell from Burnham Rotary Club.
"It
turned out to be a great success, with over 160 young people taking
part in front of an audience of 200 parents and friends."
"All
proceeds from the sell-out concert were divided between the eight
schools taking part, and were put towards the provision of new
equipment and facilities in their music departments."
The
schools involved were Beechfield Infants School Choir & Percussion,
St John's Junior School Choir (pictured above), West Huntspill
Primary School Choir & Recorders and East Huntspill Primary
School Choir & Percussion.
Also
taking part were groups from Berrow Primary School Recorders &
Drums, St Andrew's Junior School Guitars and Choir, St Joseph's
Primary School Choir and King Alfred School. Refreshments
were provided by the Inner Wheel Club of Burnham.
