Students at King Alfred School celebrate A-Level exam successes

-

Whoops of delight were heard from A-Level students in Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday morning (August 14th) when they received their eagerly-awaited exam results.

Pupils from King Alfred School gathered to receive their A Level and AS results – and most were pleased with how they’d done.

The school recorded a 95 per cent pass rate, which was re-calculated from the earlier announced 92%.

This was slightly down on last year’s 96 per cent, but head teacher Keith Diffey said the school was “delighted” with the results.

Head of Sixth Form Sue Masters told Burnham-On-Sea.com she was “really pleased” with the results and added that a large number of students had applied to join universities.

“All those students who were seriously wanting to go onto university have got what they wanted,” she said.

Mr Diffey added: “There are lots of very pleased students around this morning, so we’re all delighted.”

Among those celebrating was Hayley Durrant, who achieved A, B and D grades at AS-Level. “I’m absolutely delighted,” she said.
