Police in Burnham-On-Sea took action against under-age drinkers during the half-term break.

Officers from Burnham seized alcohol from teenagers, mainly those drinking in parks and open spaces, and the youngsters concerned were spoken to and given words of advice, and some parents also informed.

Hundreds of pounds of alcohol seized has been destroyed as a result. The crackdown was part of the Somerset Tackling Alcohol Related Crime (STARC) project which is aimed at reducing drinking among young people and the associated trouble.
