Burnham-On-Sea Aquathon
attracts over 120 athletes

Over
120 athletes from across the West Country competed in the annual
Burnham-On-Sea Aquathon on Sunday (April 13th).
The
gruelling event took place in glorious sunshine and featured a
1000 metre swim in Burnham pool followed by a 10km run from Burnham
to Berrow and back.
Iain
Hindes from North Devon Triathletes won the men's event in a fast
time of 54 minutes, 11 seconds while the overall winner of the
women's race was Helen Parkinson in 56 minutes, 27 seconds.
Both
were presented with their awards by Burnham pool's new bosses,
Sara-Jane Cox and Mark Conklin, in a ceremony after Sunday's event.
A
shorter, second race featuring a 500m swim and 5km run also took
place and this was won by Steve Ferguson (26 minutes, 38 seconds)
and Kira Thorpe (32 minutes, 52 seconds). Click

Burnham
pool's new bosses, Sara-Jane Cox and Mark Conklin, handed over
prizes to the race's overall winners Iain Hindes and Helen Parkinson.

rest after Sunday's event.
