Up, up and away for Burnham-On-Sea charity's balloon race!

Over
200 balloons soared into the skies above Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday
afternoon (August 2nd) at the start of a fundraising race.
The
colourful spectacle was one of several events laid on during a
fun day at the Rosewood Inn in Love Lane to raise funds for the
Burnham and Highbridge Gateway Club.
Burnham's
Mayor, Peter Clayton, joined the Gateway Club's Arthur and Barbara
Thorogood in releasing the 230 balloons, as pictured here.
Pub
landlord Shaun Linthorne told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We're
delighted to be helping the Gateway Club with this event and are
keen for the Rosewood to be more involved with community events
like this in the future."
Arthur
Thorogood added that he hoped the event would raise hundreds of
pounds towards funding the Gateway Club's forthcoming trip to
Longleat this September. The winner of the balloon race will get
a meal for four at the Rosewood or other pubs in the chain around
the country.

tombola was one of the activities held at the pub on Saturday
