Public
to get their say on future of Highbridge car park
Highbridge
residents will be able to quiz the district council over controversial
plans to sell off the town's Bank Street Car Park.
County
councillor Rosemarie Parsons, who is Chairman of the Regeneration
Partnership which is hosting the event, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"This car park is crucial to the future regeneration of Highbridge."
"With
the town in danger of being swamped with new flats, I just don't
see why the car park should be sold off."
"Highbridge
people want answers to their questions on what future car parking
provision will be and whether the impact on traders has been properly
considered."
The
public meeting will be held on Thursday 20th March from 6pm-8pm
in Highbridge Community Hall.
Doug
Bamsey from Sedgemoor District Council will be in attendance and
will give a presentation about the proposed plans.
Hosted
by the Regeneration Partnership, the event will be an opportunity
for local residents and traders to voice their concerns and ask
questions.
