Burnham-On-Sea's
Beijing 2008 stars given warm reception in carnival
Burnham's
Olympic BMX rider Liam Phillips and Paralympic swimmer Anthony
Stephens said they were "greatly honoured" to be near
the front of Monday's carnival procession.
Burnham
Rotary Club created a special float for the pair to be paraded
through the town, and they received loud cheers all along the
route.
Liam
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "It was a proud moment to be involved
in the carnival procession and wonderful to get such a warm reception."
Anthony
added: "It was a great honour. While I now live in Wales,
I still consider Burnham to be home. The town is very special
for me."
