Burnham
mums shape up with pram walking fitness classes
Pram-pushing
mums are set to be a more regular sight at Highbridge's Apex Park
from this week as a brand new fitness programme for new mothers
launches.
Burnham
personal trainer Andrea Warren is starting the twice-weekly 'Buggyfit'
classes, which involve mothers power walking with their prams
at the park and doing various toning exercises.
Andrea
explained: "With Buggyfit, the bump you carry for nine months
becomes the bump you push to get back into shape after childbirth."
"It's
the perfect way to gain back fitness whilst you have fun and make
friends at the same time. And, because baby comes too, there's
no need for sitters, creches or excuses!"
She
added that each class lasts about an hour and involves power walking
plus a mixture of strengthening and toning exercises thrown in.
"It's highly effective at improving posture, toning up, and
shifting post-natal weight," she said.
The
classes, which start on Monday (May 12th), start at Apex Wildlife
Park's main car park on Mondays from 2-3pm and Wednesdays from
11.30am-12.30pm.
Sessions
cost £5 each or £50 for 12. For more information,
contact Andrea by email here
or by calling 01278 723300.
Classes
are also being held in Bridgwater, Street, Taunton and Chilton
Polden. Buggyfit is a nationwide fitness scheme and more details
are available from the national website here.
