Drama
continues in Burnham-On-Sea for 'Captain Calamity'

There
was more drama on Saturday morning (October 25th) for the so-called
'Captain Calamity' skipper when his trimaran was craned out of
the River Brue.
The
'Star Of Burnham' was being lowered by a crane onto the back of
a lorry to be driven by road to the skipper's home in Whitstable,
Kent, when it began to tilt at a precarious angle on the side
of the juggernaut, as pictured above.
"The
crane was quickly used to hoist the vessel back into the air and
onto the beach before its sides were collapsed and it could be
safely lowered back onto the lorry to begin its road journey,"
one eyewitness told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
It
was, perhaps, the final chapter in a long-running story for the
trimaran's skipper, Anthony Woodford, who was branded 'Captain
Calamity' by Coastguards earlier in the week after several rescues.
The
trimaran was retrieved on Sunday
and Tuesday
and sparked a safety scare on Wednesday
that resulted in an army bomb disposal team being called. The
story continued on Friday
when Burnham's Harbour Master banned the trimaran from setting
sail again.

The
'Star of Burnham' was lifted off the lorry and onto the beach
where the sides of the trimaran were collapsed...

... and the controversial vessel could be successfully loaded
onto the trailer.
