Photo Exclusive: Burnham
fire crew tackles car blaze in Highbridge

These
were the dramatic scenes in the centre of Highbridge on Friday
afternoon (April 11th) as Burnham-On-Sea fire crews dealt with
a serious car fire.
Burnham
firefighters were mobilised to a report of a car alight in Highbridge's
Bank Street Car Park just before 4pm.
One
fire engine from Burnham was sent to the scene and on arrival
the crews confirmed a car was well alight.
The
fire team used two hose reel jets and two sets of breathing apparatus
to extinguish the flames and avoid the fire spreading to a nearby
building.
A
spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com the cause of the fire had been
accidental, and that 75 per cent of the vehicle had been severely
damaged by fire.
