Burnham's
Marine Drive re-opens after food van's sticky problem
Long
queues of carnival traffic built up along Burnham-On-Sea's Marine
Drive on Monday afternoon (November 10th) after this burger van's
wheels became stuck on a muddy verge.
Heavy
rain had left the grass verges very sticky and the van had to
be towed free before the long lines of traffic could flow again,
as pictured here.
Security
stepped up ahead of Burnham-On-Sea carnival parade
CCTV
cameras across Burnham-On-Sea were being cleaned and fully tested
on Monday afternoon (November 10th) as part of

a cherry picker was being used at the corner of Cross Street and
the High Street to check the camera was fully operational ahead
of Monday's carnival parade.
Local
police will work with other emergency services via the carnival's
'silver command centre' to try and minimise crime and disorder.
Last-minute
work for floats ahead of tonight's procession
Heavy
rain at Saturday's North Petherton Carnival left several carnival
floats with electrical problems - and members of several clubs
were busily checking their floats' electrics on Monday afternoon
(November 10th) as they waited for Burnham-On-Sea's parade.
The
Toppers Carnival Club float, pictured here on the Frank Foley
Parkway, suffered electrical problems after Saturday's heavy downpours
- but club members told Burnham-On-Sea.com they were optimistic
everything would be sorted for tonight.
