Burnham-On-Sea
traders to
discuss town improvement initiatives
Improving
the town centre of Burnham-On-Sea will be the theme for a special
meeting of the town's Chamber of Trade and Commerce on Tuesday
evening (October 21st).
The meeting, to be held at 6pm in the Princess Hall in Princess
Street, will be open to all businesses in the town, as well as
the general public for the main business of the meeting.
Speakers
will include Doug Bamsey, Corporate Director for regeneration
at Sedgemoor District Council, who will provide an update on plans
to regenerate the town.
Adrian
Gardner, the group manager for Clean Surroundings at Sedgemoor
District Council, will talk about street cleaning and litter,
while Ioan Rees, Manager of Somerset County Council's highways
department, will discuss transport and parking in Burnham.
Sgt.
Ian Kennett will discuss current crime and disorder issues and
how they are being tackled. All speakers will also take questions
about the issues facing town centre businesses.
Melanie
Chiswell, Corporate Affairs Director for Tesco, will also make
a short presentation regarding the supermarket giant's expansion
plans for its Love Lane store in Burnham.
Chairman Alex Turco told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The businesses
of Burnham rely on a vibrant, clean and safe town centre."
