Expanded
Indian restaurant opens in Burnham-On-Sea

A
newly-expanded Indian restaurant opened its doors for the first
time in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea on Monday evening (November
24th).
Burnham's
Mayor and Mayoress were among the special guests at the opening
of Chandni's new larger premises in the High Street.
Peter and Jo Burridge-Clayton cut a customary ribbon to officially
open the new restuarant, helped by manager Gopal Ganaprakash and
waiter Huk, as pictured above.
Chandni
moved into the larger, fully modernised premises next to its old
base at 54 High Street after Regency Joes moved out in August.
Gopal
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We've spent several months redecorating
the premises and hope our customers are as pleased with the final
result as us."
"It's
always been our dream to expand and the new premises are ideal.
We've also introduced a new menu to mark the occasion."
Cllr
Burridge-Clayton added: "It's good to see businesses having
plenty of confidence to invest in Burnham despite the difficult
economic conditions. I am sure Chandni will thrive and wish them
all the best."
The
opening came during Britain's tenth annual National Curry Week,
which celebrates the country's passion for Indian food from November
23rd to 30th.
