Burnham-On-Sea Mayor signs up to 'Sedgemoor Charter' agreement

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Town Council is to work closer with Sedgemoor District Council following the signing of an official charter on Monday evening (April 7th).

Mayor Pauline Pollard signed the 'Sedgemoor Charter', watched by Town Clerk Eileen Shaw and District Council Chairman Dennis Davey, as pictured.

Cllr Davey explained the role of the charter: "It aims to establish effective collaborative working between Sedgemoor District Council and Town and Parish Councils in the district, with particular emphasis on improving consultation and communication about policies and decisions."

"The Charter also offers Town Councils the opportunity, if they wish, to have a greater involvement in the provision of services for local people."
