Mayor leads Christmas lights competition judging in Burnham-On-Sea

The judging of Burnham and Highbridge's annual Christmas lights competition got underway on Friday (December 19th) when the town's Mayor and Mayoress toured the two towns in search of the best illuminations.

Mayor Peter Burridge-Clayton and Cllr Pat Burge were joined by Mayoress Jo Burridge-Clayton, pictured, for the evening of judging.

"It's been a good year for Christmas illuminations in Burnham and Highbridge and this has made it difficult to decide on the winners," the Mayor told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The town council is awarding prizes in several categories, including best illuminated private dwelling in Burnham; best illuminated private dwelling in Highbridge; best joint effort (private dwellings) in Burnham and Highbridge; and best decorated shop or business window in Burnham and Highbridge. Cllr Dennis Davey is judging businesses.

The winners will be announced here on Burnham-On-Sea.com just before Christmas. Click here to see who won last year's competition.
