Burnham-On-Sea firefighters held their annual Christmas collection for the fire benevolent fund in the town centre. Station officer Ian Hazelton told Burnham-On-Sea.com the event had been well supported once again.

Almost 50 youngsters flocked to Burnham-On-Sea Baptist Church in College Street for a special afternoon Christmas party, which featured music and seasonal fund and games.

Members of Sedgemoor’s Waterbabies group have been celebrating Christmas with Santa. The group’s lessons at Brainwave in Bridgwater will be moving to Middlemoor Waterpark, near Burnham, in January which will make them more accessable to parents in the Burnham area. Waterbabies is all about teaching babies to swim whilst having fun. Father Christmas made a very important visit to the group, giving each baby a rubber duck and a chocolate! Volunteers from the Freewheelers emergency bike service held a collection outside Asda in Highbridge. Spokesman Allan Roberts told Burnham-On-Sea.com a total of £416.11 was collected. “Many thanks to Asda and the generosity of the public,” he said.
