-

A troupe of circus performers who are hosting Christmas shows at a garden centre near Burnham-On-Sea from November will be arriving on site next week to put up their big top tent.

Clowns, trapeze artists, hula hoopers and acrobats from Paulo’s Circus Americano will be helping assemble and decorate a 12metre high tent at Sanders Garden World next Monday (November 3rd) in time for their run of special festive shows.

Paul Carpenter of Paulo’s Circus Americano, said: “We will be arriving at the beginning of November to assemble the big top and begin preparing for the Christmas shows, which will start on November 22nd and run through until January 4th, 2009.”

The pink coloured tent will seat more than 650 people and have a circumference of 32 metres. It will take two days to construct and dress.

Paulo’s Circus Americano will host shows every Saturday and Sunday from November 22nd until December 7th and then they will take place every day, except Christmas Day, until January 4th.

It is the fourth year Paulo’s Circus Americano will pitch its big top at the centre and this year’s show includes a new line-up featuring the ‘Vegas Boys’ from America who will perform the ‘wheel of death’ and trapeze act ‘Duo Stratosphere’ and their glittering space rocket.

An appearance from Spiderman and award-winning clown duo Kakehole and Popol (pictured) will also add to the entertainment.

Adult grand stand tickets cost £16 and children/OAP tickets cost £14. Ring side seats cost £14 for adults and £12 for children/OAPs and side view tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £8 for children/OAPs. Tickets are on sale by calling 01278 761111.
