A colourful procession took place in East Huntspill, near Burnham-On-Sea, on Saturday evening (September 6th) to mark the start of the village’s annual harvest home celebrations.

Cheered on by local residents, over 40 people took part in the parade along Church Road, from Bason Bridge milk factory to East Huntspill, where several hundred people enjoyed a traditional roast meal and live music.

Organiser Fiona Wall told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This parade has been held each year on the evening of East Huntspill’s harvest home for around 100 years and is led by the harvest queen, who this year is Charlotte Lockyer.”

“While the procession attracts fewer wagons and entrants than it did several years ago, it’s still well supported and is an important local tradition.”
