Colourful
exhibition by local artists opens in Burnham-On-Sea gallery
A
colourful new exhibition of paintings by two local artists opens
in a town centre art gallery in Burnham-On-Sea next week.
Local
artists Margaret Micklewright and Linda Gee are displaying over
30 water colours and oil paintings, as pictured, at Sea Breeze
in Victoria Street from Monday September 8th until Friday October
3rd.
Margaret
said: "I like to work in an exciting range of acrylic inks
and other inks, but also use oils and oil pastels."
"I
like to focus on several elements from a landscape - the light,
the mood of the weather, reflective qualities, pattern and rhythm
and use these, rather than detail, as the basis of the painting."
The
exhibition is open to the public on weekdays from 10am-5.30pm
(Wednesdays 10-2.30pm) and on Saturdays from 10am-3pm. Entry is
free.
Artists
from across the area are also making final preparations to take
part in Somerset Arts Weeks, which this year run from 13th to
28th September.
