Man killed during afternoon of horror crashes in Burnham-On-Sea area

A man was killed and two people were injured in two horrific road accidents in the Burnham-On-Sea area on Friday afternoon (January 4th).

These were the scenes outside the Fox and Goose public house on the A38 following a three-vehicle collision at 11.30am involving two cars and a tractor.

"A female was seriously injured and taken to hospital with a suspected fractured pelvis and a man suffered neck injuries," police spokesman Darren Bane told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The accident led to long delays for motorists in the area, with the A38 closed for one and a half hours.

In a separate crash further along the A38, a pedestrian in his 80s was killed after being involved in a collision with a vehicle at Rooksbridge at 12.15pm.

Police spokesman Darren Bane said the man was hit by a white BMW 5 Series car.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
