Film
extras wanted as star-studded film begins shooting locally
Volunteer
film extras are required for a star-filled film being shot in
Brean and the Bridgwater area during the next couple of weeks.
The
short film, called Seven and Six, will feature Peter McGowan
(pictured right), the star of Emmerdale, Heartbeat and
the film Goal, and popular
actress Sharon Duce (pictured
below),
who is a familiar face from Big Deal, Growing Pains and
Holby Blue.
Highbridge-based
scriptwriter and film-maker Deb Richardson told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"The film is about a woman called Joan whose only escape
from a miserable marriage is a weekly game of bingo."
"The
unusual title refers to the number '76', which in bingo-lingo
refers to the old price of a marriage licence and would summon
the response "Was she/he worth it!" from players."
Several
scenes in the film will be shot at Brean's Unity Farm caravan
park on May 21st, but it's the main scenes set in a bingo hall,
to be filmed at the 37 Club in Puriton, where volunteer film extras
are required.
Deb
explained: "It's a pivotal scene in the film and we need
lots of people to play the 'regulars'. It'll be a fun day as the
37 Club is a really friendly place and we're fortunate to be working
with a great cast and crew."
"Extras
need to be over the age of 18 and be free to film on Tuesday May
27th from 9.30am until 4pm. The 37 Club is located in West Approach,
off Woolavington Road, near the entrance to the old Royal Ordnance
Factory."
Those
volunteering to be axtras will have their names on the film's
closing credits and be given a copy of the finished film.
The
film is a collaboration between local film-makers Jeremy Decoursey,
Josh Randall and Deb Richardson, who met at the Engine Room in
Bridgwater. The trio were specially selected and given the opportunity
to make Seven and Six as part of a scheme called 'Tor',
supported by South West Screen, RiO, the UK Film Council and Arts
Council England.
Seven
and Six will be premiered at the Watershed Cinema in Bristol
next month and then sent to festivals and screenings around the
country.
