Billowing
smoke prompts call-out for Burnham-On-Sea fire crew
These
were the scenes in Brean on Wednesday afternoon (February 6th)
when billowing smoke led to a call-out for Burnham-On-Sea firefighters.
One
engine was sent to the Three Acres Caravan Park in the centre
of the resort at 5.15pm after local residents raised the alarm
after seeing the black smoke rising into the sky.
However,
a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the incident had
been a false alarm with good intent.
"We were called to Brean to investigate, but in fact the
fire on this occasion was caused by controlled burning."
