Burnham-On-Sea police investigate 'deliberate' car blaze

A fire crew from Burnham-On-Sea was unable to save this vehicle after it was deliberately set alight in the early hours of Saturday morning (October 18th).

One fire engine from Burnham was sent to tackle the blaze at Sloway Lane in West Huntspill at 4am after local residents raised the alarm.

"The car fire was believed to have been started deliberately," a fire spokesman confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com.

"Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. The vehicle sustained 80% damage by fire, 10% by heat and 10% by smoke."

Police were also informed and are investigating the incident.
