Burnham
fire crews tackle two small fires during busy morning

Burnham-On-Sea
fire crews had a busy morning on Wednesday (March 5th) after being
called to two incidents.
Two
engines were sent to a small kitchen fire in a flat at Highbridge's
Vardy Court - as pictured here - near the town's cattle market,
at 8.45am. It turned out to have been a false alarm.
Later
in the morning, at 10.22am, the fire crews were called out again
when a road sweeping lorry was reported to be on fire at Burnham
Holiday Village in Marine Drive.
One
fire engine from Burnham was sent to the scene and they found
a small fire within the rear of the sweeper mechanism, caused
by an electrical short circuit within the engine.
"There
was 70 per cent fire, heat and smoke damage to the engine and
it was extinguished using one hose reel jet," fire spokesman
Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
