A fire crew from Burnham-On-Sea joined others from across Somerset
in tackling a big gorse fire near Cheddar on Saturday afternoon
(March 1st).
Fire
appliances from Burnham, Wells, Cheddar, Blagdon, Paulton and
Shepton Mallet attended the blaze at Priddy Ponds in Priddy which
involved gorse, bushes, trees and grassland.
A
fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The fire area was
400m x 200m and was extinguished using several hose reel jets
and fire beaters. The cause is thought to be deliberate."
