Crowds
of visitors flocked to Burnham-On-Sea Horticultural Society's
annual Spring show on Saturday (March 8th).
Show
Secretary David Bryant said the event, held in St Andrew's School,
had been another success with over 200 entries and a steady flow
of visitors throughout the day.
"The
mild winter has helped the quality of some classes," he told
Burnham-On-Sea.com. "The
overall standard has been very good and it's been particularly
pleasing to some see new entrants this year in the childrens'
classes."
The
entries at Saturday's annual event covered gardening, cookery,
floral art and photography.

Alan
Purnell was awarded the trophy for the best exhibit in the show
for these hyacinths.

The
trophy for cut flowers went to long-time grower Alan Pearce, seen
here with a collection of his spring daffodils.

Show
Secretary David Bryant congralates Lakin Earl, who was awarded
the show's Society Cup after winning 11 first places.

Beth
Whetstone won several top prizes in the floral entry classes for
her colourful entries.
