Celtic folk band Dragonsfly opened Burnham-On-Sea’s third annual FolkFest in front of a capacity audience on Friday evening (August 29th).

Dragonsfly, pictured here, took to the stage at the Ritz Social Club in front of around 200 people to perform the opening gig at the three-day festival.

The event continues today (Saturday) in pubs, clubs and other venues across the town with over 100 hours of free, live entertainment.

Performances will be held in eight pub and club venues, with free music in each from noon until 11.00pm.

There will also be clog and morris dancing, a craft fair in the centre of the town, childrens’ entertainment, workshops and other activities.

On Sunday (August 31st) the popular ‘Folk in the Park’ event will be held in Burnham’s Manor Gardens, with six hours of free music and performance including the fabulous Sheelanagig, Ember, Bag of Rats, Phil King and the Tiger Feet Appalachian Dancers.
