GCSE
pupils at Highbridge's King Alfred School celebrate exam success
Dozens
of students at King Alfred School were celebrating their GCSE
results on Thursday morning (August 21st).
51%
of the year group achieved five or more passes at grade C or above,
much to the delight of teachers.
Dr
Diffey, school headteacher, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We
are very pleased with this year's results. The students have worked
extremely hard and we are delighted to share in their success."
He
added that there were some outstanding individual performances,
with Sarah Banham, Annabelle Frost, William Tasker and Kieran
Tippet all achieving eight results at A*/A grades.
Katy
McMahon, Lauren Shipway and Alicia Wensley earned seven A*/A grades,
while Mark Coles, Dana Haggett, Candice Popham, and Michael Sergison
got six of the top grades.
The
school achieved a slightly higher 53% pass rate last
year, although this year's results were higher than the 2006
figures.
