Police
helicopter performs search of Stert Island after mystery

A
police helicopter conducted a search of Stert Island, near Burnham-On-Sea,
on Sunday afternoon (November 30th) after reports that a commercial
helicopter had been acting 'suspiciously' over the island earlier
in the day.
Police
were alerted on Sunday morning at 11.30am when a person on the
beach in Burnham saw a grey-coloured aircraft hover yards above
the island for several minutes, raising fears that it could be
dropping off a package or person onto the sandy shores.
A
police helicopter was later used to scour the island for several
minutes from 3pm on Sunday afternoon, as pictured here.
Police
spokeswoman Louise Harris told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I can
confirm police were called at 11.30am on Sunday regarding a helicopter
over Stert Island."
"Our
helicopter was deployed to investigate, but nothing was found
and no offences were disclosed."
