New
history panels unveiled by Highbridge history and regeneration
groups

A
series of new history panels highlighting Highbridge's colourful
past are set to be introduced across the town during the next
few months.
Highbridge
History Group has been working with the Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge
Regeneration Partnership to create the informative panels, which
include photos and stories featuring the town's most notable people
and buildings.
The
design of the boards was unveiled for the first time on Tuesday
evening (November 18th) at the AGM of the Regeneration Partnership
in Burnham's Princess Hall, as pictured here.
"We
are delighted with how they look and expect the first of the three
panels to be installed at the town's Asda supermarket soon,"
the regeneration group's chairwoman, Rose Parsons, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Fred Faulks of The Highbridge History Group, who has been
involved in creating the panels, added: "We've tried to pick
a wide range of subjects on the panels to interest as many people
as possible. The content on the boards includes information about
Major Frank Foley, who was born in Walrow Terrace, the old radio
station, the three-sided town clock and St John's Church."
