Highbridge's Sunday marketSunday morning markets will continue to be held in Highbridge until next Easter, even though the town’s cattle markets have moved to Bridgwater’s new multi-million pound regional agricultural centre.

Mead Realisations – the firm that owns the historic cattle market site – told Burnham-On-Sea.com that it hopes the popular Sunday markets will stay in Highbridge for another four months.

“Nothing has been firmly decided, but our plan is to carry on with the Sunday morning markets until Easter,” said spokeswoman Nicola Bray.

One of the traders at the popular Sunday morning markets, who asked to remain anonymous, told Burnham-On-Sea.com he believes a surplus of new homes in Highbridge is behind the lack of urgency to sell off the site off for property development.
