Car retrieved after plunging off side of Burnham-On-Sea jetty

A stolen car was recovered from Burnham's beach early on Tuesday morning (November 11th) after it was driven off the side of the town's jetty.

The car, a blue Vauxhall Vectra, plunged off the southern side of the jetty at around 2am.

John Kramer of vehicle recovery firm MJ Autos told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We couldn't reach the car initially because of the incoming tide."

"We waited for the water to fall back before recovering it. The car is in a poor condition after being submerged. We believe it had been stolen."
