BBC's John Inverdale visits local village for fundraising quiz evening

BBC television and radio presenter John Inverdale was the VIP guest at a fundraising quiz evening held near Burnham-On-Sea on Friday evening (October 10th).

John, who recently led the BBC's television coverage of the Beijing Olympics, was the guest at a quiz evening held in Mark by the village's Community Association to raise money for the village hall.

A capacity audience of 100 people attended the event, which included a two course meal and fundraising activities.

John told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I am delighted to be here to support this event and hope that we can raise a good amount whilst also having some fun."

John, pictured right, is a familiar voice on BBC Radio 5 Live and also fronts the BBC television's coverage of Six Nations rugby on BBC1 and the Ryder Cup.

He is the brother of one of the members of the Mark Community Association and has attended several other local events in recent years.
